Alejandro Ramirez

Postdoc

Alejandro is an M.D./Ph.D. psychiatry resident at Columbia University and Leon Levy Research Fellow. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation with Dr. Randy Bruno (Columbia University) where he investigated mechanisms of neural plasticity and sensory coding in the rodent somatosensory system. He is currently interested in how sensory perception, emotion, and social behaviors are modulated by an animals internal state - specifically, through interoceptive signals such as steroid hormones and neuropeptides.
